There's a major difference between a player like Biff Bazooper the failing prospect requesting a trade, and a player at the caliber of Eichel requesting a trade.

Also if a player requests a trade it doesnt mean the team HAS to trade them, its called a request.

First off Jack Eichel is an elite talent, Possibly generational player. Those kind of players asking for a trade doesn't diminish their value in the very least.

And to say that Matthews value is Eichel+Dahlin is Dahlin by himself is a generational Dman probably close to the next Lidstrom in his prime both Eichel and Dahlin together have more value then Matthews.
