I know Steen wouldn’t waive his NTC but if something similar to this was the asking price I would have been tempted to pull the trigger

Some of the clowns in Pittsburgh think we lost this deal. Little do they know we're probably going to trade either Murray or Jarry at the draft for a late 1st or high 2nd rounder and Marino makes Addison useless

Justin Faulk’s 6.5 million means we literally couldn’t have without losing Pietrangelo in ufa. Would’ve been smart to trade Schenn before his extension and use the assets to get Zucker, but hindsight is a 2020 and the team probably didn’t think Thomas would explode like he has this year

As an in division rival, Blues would have to give up more. Just part of the business. You're looking at Sanford or Kyrou, 2020 1st, Perunovich and probably a second or other first. Personally, I'm glad we didn't pull the trigger

Never said that. I said your takes aren't good. If Zucker does what he needs to do, then the trade is fine. But if he struggles, the trade doesn't look good. You said Murray or Jarry trade at the draft, that hurts the team big time. And just because Marino stepped up, doesn't make Addison useless.

Why do you think Minnesota would choose this trade over the Pittsburgh trade?? That all the Blues had to do was say 'here take a similar package' and Minnesota would say ok sold? They would've had to like it better than the Pittsburgh package

I'm thinking Guerin and his scouts targeted Addison and probably prefer Galchenyuk (being younger and with potential to stay with them if he plays well) over Steen and Perunovich.

1. If we trade Murray or Jarry we have Desmith who we can call up to be the backup next year who was doing just fine before Jarry leapfrogged him
2. I wouldn't say he's useless but he probably would've had to wait another year or two before he was at the NHL level and another year or two before he can really contribute which doesn't help us in this short window we have to get Sid and Geno their 4th rings. I would've preferred them trading Hallander or POJ but maybe Guerin only wanted Addison.

I think it was a good trade for both teams. I just hope that we can afford Zucker next year and beyond
