Description
The jets are a draft and develop team and let’s not forget that. They need to draft for their biggest need and imo that need is a long term partner for either JoMo or heinola. I don’t think the jets will have a high enough pick for a top center so taking a good c in the early second round is better. There are also not many rd options in the early draft and assuming the jets have around 20 oa they should take braeden Schneider who imo should be ready for the nhl after next year.

For a temporary fix on the blueline the jets sign hometown boy hamonic who I think wants to come home anyway so giving him a shorter term overpay is not a bad idea. Hamonic won’t get this kind of money elsewhere and gets to come home but he doesn’t get term as I don’t think he is worth even over 4 million a year. When his contract is up however I would be open to signing him to a chiarot type deal

Last thing is if we can get someone else like a cap dump like marleau. We have the space and don’t really have the depth to make a big move...and honestly don’t need it. If backes waives his ntc to come to WPG we could use the experience or the first

Ottawa makes a namestnikov type deal.

To keep playing at a high level the jets need someone who can play 20-25 games and help us win. That may be comrie but right now we need a sure bet

If we could pull that off I’m all for it. Same forward core that’s clicking right now with the addition of Little, Lowry, and Vesa. Cost efficient defense with a lot of potential. If we can get 2 firsts in the 2020 draft we could/should get 2 good prospects assuming Chevy drafts like he normally does in the 1st. Maybe a centre like Zary around the 15-20 spot, and defenseman like Schneider in the mid 20s.

There's zero chance Boston does that, it only saves them like $2M, they're not giving up a late 1st and a 3rd for that little bit of cap space and a bust prospect.

I don’t think Schneider will be available until around 25 nor do I think the Boston pick will be that soon. Which is why o say draft Schneider first then go for a guy like bourque or foudy

The thing is though that they can move perreault if they do not want him. He could easily be traded for a mid pick. It’s just about balancing salary for the time being for the jets and the fact that the b’s get a good vet as well. Their choice if they keep him or not

Brossoit will not take a pay cut...make it 1.25M if you want him...
Don't include Perreault or Stanley, include a 4th rounder that we get for Perreault and take off BOS 3rd.
As I can't see Heinola playing next year, we need Sbisa to come back and play 3LD.

Alright but I disagree about heinola tho. The kid is just too smart to not play in the nhl. His mind is nhl ready

Yes but his mind in on the bigger surface...he needs time in the AHL to adapt...maybe half the season or whatever but I doubt that he will make it out of camp...
