Honestly McDavid and Hall never seemed to gel in their ice time together. Might be smarter plan to find complimentary winger instead of Hall who likes to carry the puck as much as McDavid and would likely save a lot of cap allowing for upgrades to 3rd line and goalies

i think the idea of the Oilers bringing in the speedy Tyler Ennis is a good one, on a nice and cheap cap hit. i think you would have to retain some money on Kris Russell to get that to go through. i like the idea of a Larsson for Kapanen deal as we need some more depth scoring and not much of a need for Larsson any longer.Taylor Hall has played on a line with mcdavid who hasnt particularly worked well with him. Hall with EDM had more of a fit with Leon Draisaitl, i think it is possible we do target him but not to be a 1st line guy which would make it pretty much useless.

According to the RFA rules, https://www.nhl.com/lightning/news/what-exactly-is-a-restricted-free-agent/c-721878 Benning has to be qualified at 2M - his 2019-20 salary. I would not advise doing this.
