Description
All this RHD Toronto talk is exhausting. Can Dubas make a deal?

Obviously these players aren't the same value. Pick based on who you'd want, plus the amount you're willing to give from the Leafs end. Tried to put every player people suggest for the Leafs, minus the untouchables (Parayko, Pesce).

I mean... I kinda wanna see Petro on the Leafs as it's his hometown team but he may extend in STL or we may not have the cap

Yeah, in terms of just the player itself, he might be the best fit for the Leafs. A lot of cap and value would be moved tho, idk. If I'm Dubas, I'd give whatever to get Pietrangelo.

To get Petro, it depends on who you want to give up. Im assuming neither Ceci nor Barrie return, while Muzzin does. Clifford may resign, so will Engvall and Mikheyev and maybe Spezza. The problem is, are the Leafs willing to give up Reilly to dump cap before the deadline or during offseason since they have a good LD in Dermott, Muzzin, Holl, and Sandin, or do they give up a couple of their mid 6 forwards to free cap to potentially sign during the offseason. It is complicated and I may sound stupid, but Dubas probably has his eye on him

Nah, u don't sound stupid. The thing about Rielly is that he's on a really good deal, so giving him up wouldn't save that much cap wise in comparison to giving up Kapanen/Johnsson. I wonder if the Blues would consider a Pietrangelo for Barrie (plus a ton) swap.

The Blues won't move him, they're trying to go back to back. The only way Petro becomes a Leaf is if he makes it to FA and things fall apart between him and St. Louis.

I'd take Savard. But what about Martinez from the Kings?

Savard is untouchable right now.... you can just take him off until the draft. With the injury to Jones we can’t afford to move Savard unless it’s for a massive overpayment, that might have to be Nylander at this point. Columbus can’t be a winning team without a RHD in the line up and with Jones out, Savard and the rookie Peeke are the only 2 left and Peeke is being very Sheltered right now and only playing vs 3rd and 4th lines.

Haha thanks...it would take a huge trade to get Petro before the trade deadline, unless he chooses to sign here anyway as a FA because hometown guy
