Sakic would rather stick his hand in a snowblower, than trade Byram

Bowen Byram for Kyle Connor absolutely makes zero sense, AVs are already one of the top offensive teams in the league. They'll need D help down the road not more wingers that they really don't need. If i'm Sakic no way i'm dealing Byram for Connor.

It was drummed up by TSN to get people watching. Adrian Dater already confirmed this was never a consideration.

I feel like if WPG were to consider something like this, they'd go for a righty over a lefty. Someone who can play top minutes with Morrissey. And for COL, i don't see why another scoring winger is what they need. The cap looks good for them right now but eventually they'll have to resign some big names so might be prudent to keep the good young players on ELC contracts instead.

I'm not saying this has any truth to it, but for you to say it makes "zero sense" for the Avs is completely false.

If you look at the shape of their roster, they actually need top 6 wingers. & the price of getting an elite, young one would likely start with Byram (who hasn't proved anything in the NHL yet, no one knows if he'd work out or be a bust). As for trading Byram, there is some logic there as well. Colorado's left side already has Girard locked up long term, and if the choose to lock up Zadorov long term than all Byram has is the 3rd pairing left D spot to play in unless he finds a way to develop his game on the right side. & even there the future has Makar and Timmins in the top 4 on the right side. So for Colorado to give up a prospect that's unknown in the league and might not have a spot in their top 4 which is where he'll best be suited... actually has a lot of logic to it
