Way overpayment. The only player we need it Tyler and I’m not giving up anymore than a first. Even with extension. We don’t need depth players and we don’t need defenseman. Why would we give up marchenko on top of a first and other quality pieces. I mean I like iafallo but not with this many quality pieces going out. Plus we need a center or at least should trade for a young top 6 playmaking forward that can grow into this core.

I based the Toffoli trade off the Zucker trade, both are top 6 forwards, Zucker has more years under contract, but Toffoli has cup winning experience, something no roster players in Columbus have. I also don’t think Marchenko will play in Columbus. My guess is he doesn’t come to the states, but maybe if he gets picked up by LA or NYR he’d come over. Walker is an easy replacement for Savard who we can now trade in the offseason or let him walk as a UFA. Iafallo is older but isn’t that old, if he plays tip to his linemates he could be a top 6 center.

Stenlund, Kukan and Milano won’t be much more then a middle 6 wings or bottom pair/emergency 2nd defenseman. I also think that Taffoli will get back to his top 6 for under torts and might want to stay in Columbus, giving us a pretty good top 6 for years.

Well I see kukan as a great asset As a versatile player that can play in the top 4 and I agree stendlund and Milano will not be any better than what they are now.
I was unaware that walker could replace savy (I’ll take you at your word).
Marchenko unless management has been told he won’t sign here shouldn’t be traded unless for that true 2c. If toffoli is resigned then I can understand this trade more but if not than I think it is an overpayment.
