Carolina aren't parting with their 2nd best C unless you overpay dramatically, or there's an upgrade on Haula.

Wasn't haula just having problems in the locker room?

That was a rumour, never confirmed. Hasn't affected his on-ice production, or his TOI, so.... who knows?

Bottom three in mins last night against Dallas, even with PP time. Same with Saturday in Vegas. Sounds to me like he is in Rod's dog house.

Carolina deal is fairly good and realistic, could see it happening.

The other trades need a lot of work. McCabe isn't really worth a good young player like Kyrou. & Brodin will get a lot better offers than that

He doesn't play PK, and Carolina had 10+ mins in the box each night. His 5v5 TOI is top 6 among forwards, he's fine

Production hasn't been affected? He has 2 points in his last ten games.

He's still on 50+ point pace in 82 games.... yet anoother reason Carolina won't move him

McCabe has term and can be a good third pair player and play with some grit and needed LD cause Bouwmeester is lost for the year I assume. Sheary is added experience that can play in the top nine and knows what it takes to win in the playoffs. Which IMO equates to a good young forward of some sort and Kyrou is kind of in and out of the lineup so he was my choice.

Call it what you want he is not the main part of the deal honestly. Geekie is what I really want. If you cant part with your "2nd line center" Sabres will take one of your 1st to give you an upgrade at 4C and PK and a second pair defensemen who is cost controlled.

Wallmark, Staal, Haula and Aho are all better than Larsson. Montour isn't worth Geekie or a first. Canes reject.

Those types of players are easy to find as rentals for MUCH cheaper than a prospect like Kyrou. I doubt St.Louis bites on that offer

21 points isn't much for a "2nd line centre". You can quote whatever analytics you want, but at the end of the day the results aren't there to call Haula a 2C. Not to mention that Staal is actually listed as the 2C right now and still had 19 points. They could move Haula in the deal then move Necas to 3C (where Haula is actually playing) and they wouldn't lose much. The deal makes a ton of sense actually

sheary is a middle-6 player that crosby carried to one good season--and he'll only decline over the next five years. he hasn't played a full season in his entire NHL career and has only put up over 35 points once. he's a middle-6 guy who will start declining. mccabe can be an acceptable third pair player, but st louis has a bunch of replacement-level players in the minors (walman, pouliot, mikkola, reinke) to fill that spot. plus mccabe is also 26--in his prime and unlikely to improve.

jordan kyrou is a 21-year-old cost-controlled asset with 42 points in 43 AHL games last season. st louis values him as a future top-6 forward. maybe this trade works for something like sanford but kyrou would require a much better asset coming back, especially considering the state of st louis's farm system without him.

Sabres should not trade Montour for a pending UFA unless there is a contract in place right away. Also, blues are not trading one of their best prospects for our garbage (unless they want to. Ill take it)
