Description
With Maurice now extended to a multi year deal, Jets need to make a trade now or the riots will begin in WPG. Many fans were calling for his head. If the Jets want to make playoffs they need to make a big move for a top 4 dman. It's looking like Dumba, Petry, Brodin and Severson are the likely options. I'd love to see a move for Dumba as he'd be a solid partner for Heinola/Samberg whoever earns that spot next year.

MIN fans let me know if this trade is enough to get it done, I think it's an overpayment in terms of value (I know you guys need C, not LW but Vesalainen plays both sides), but I think Chevy is going to make a splash and overpay. I think there is a deal to be made here for Staal and Dumba, maybe the jets swap Vesalainen with Gustafsson so the wild get their C prospect? The 2021 3rd is also conditional and can upgrade to a 2021 1st if the conditions are met (Jets make 2020 playoffs, Jets win stanley cup in 2020 or 2021, upgrades to a 2nd if first condition is met but they only make the playoffs in 2021)

Samberg is signed at the end of his NCAA season and given a stint in the NHL and I think he sticks either as 2LD or 3LD you can swap him and beaulieu around.

gonna say this is an overpay. Niku is worth a good bit, as is roslovic. I'd say staal carries the same value as roslovic and dumba is equivalent to niku and the picks. Vesa might not be what he was expected to be, but that's too much to throw at them. Give a lower tier prospect like Harkins instead.

Throw in Perreault for cap space....I can see this happening...Its a lot for the Jets to give up but it seems fair

To be honest, I value Harkins over Vesalainen right now just based on where they are at and if Jets are in win now mode, Harkins is worth more to them. But I do agree it's an overpayment, but since its an interdivisional trade it's got to be an overpayment.

It's a lot to give up, but I think it's worth it.

Fair enough, it's an overpayment by a bit for the Jets so perreault for cap space reasons makes sense!
