This back end is still suspect. But this forward group is great.
In this case, I still think finding some sort of deal to acquire/sign a veteran d-man is a good idea. Packaging a forward with some term/control (Roslovic/Appleton/Ehlers, or even Niku) would be the best idea. Obviously if it's Ehlers, the player that the Jets get back would have to be of high caliber.
I would also take another run at a different back-up. I'm not sure if Berdin is NHL ready. But I do think he's great.

I think copp, Appleton, roslovic and harkins deserve to be slotted higher, and I would drop little down the lineup and try to get his best hockey out of protected minutes and matchups. I think the need is still to get wheeler back to the wing and add an upgraded skilled 2c, over winning with skill over depth. On the blueline I would gamble on niku, samberg and heinola winning full time jobs by Christmas and especially after the fall after when niku and poolman probably the targets of Seattle. Will be interesting to see if berdin is ready or another bargain in between broisset and berdin
