Okay, now fans are taking to too far saying that is laughable... I’ve seen some bad offers in here but a 20 y.o Defense man with big upside, a young middle 6 forward a first and a second is a good offer, if you don’t like refuse it but to call it laughable is laughable

In all honesty this is a bad trade for the Leafs, middle 6 winger out the door, future top 4 Dman (and truthfully has looked just as impressive as Dumba in his first few games) and a 1st and a 2nd and all the Leafs get is the next scape goat. This is bad for Leafs regardless of how Minny Fans or Guerin feel about the offer

Leafs can't trade that first because of the conditions on the 2020 deal with Carolina. And they shouldn't. Giving up those packages of players is not smart. Robertson looks like a middle-6 winger at worst, Liljegren is going to give them cheap defensive oriented minutes on at least the third pair with more potentially to come. Then you also give away a first, second, third and fourth. This is mortgaging the future for guys who aren't worth it.

And I'd be shocked if they resigned Kyle Clifford, especially since it activates the conditions on upgrading that third rounder to a second.

It will upgrade even if they don't sign him because of the 6 wins condition on Campbell so it doesn't matter

Yeah, I forgot that Matt Dumba is the next Bobby Orr in the eyes of Bill Guerin so I see why he will not trade him. Actually, the real reason Guerin will not trade him is he is afraid that if he makes a bad deal he will lose his job as GM.

The pick doesn't upgrade to a second, La gets the 2021 3rd if Campbell wins 6, Leafs sign Clifford or Leafs make the playoffs.
That pick is all but gone at the moment

wouldn't bite on either of these. we don't need another offensive defenceman that doesn't play solid d. also kapanen severson 1 for 1 would make me think, nevermind Robertson, who has been unreal in the OHL this year, and a 2nd

1. Min would (should) take that. Unless they don't want to move Dumba thats probably the most you'll get.
2. Leafs should NOT make that trade. Sandin Liljegren and 1sts should not be shopped for a D
- Unless the leafs aquire a legit #1D, they should shop only their middle 6 wingers (Kapanen, Johnsson, Kerfoot) for a solid top 4 Dman

More like he doesn't need to trade him. The Wild don't need cap space by any means (they just dumped $5.5m in Zucker). They only have 2 longterm holes to fill on their team: center and goalie. Their prospect pool is in good shape for wings and RD, LD is a little weak. The NHL roster is good except for a better 1C than Staal (not happening), barring a 1C getting a quality 3C (Haula maybe?), and just a league average goalie.

The West is wide open (weak) this year. The Pacific is a mess with, 3 bad teams and 5 okay teams; but nobody that really scares anyone. The Central is a little better with Col (the best team in the West imo) and STL at the top; Dallas is just kid of hanging out in the 3rd spot because they are good at 3v3; the other 4 are all within 6p of a Playoff spot with games in hand.

The Wild need to get on with their rebuild which is the real reason that Dumba should be traded off now while his value is high.
