pulock is our #1 D , he isn't going anywhere. It would cost nylander and the leafs aren't trading him so pulock will never be a TML.

I'd trade him for a high end rhd any day of the week. engvall or Mikheyev could play in his spot and put up comparable numbers. the defensive issue is way bigger than the 3rd line RW spot, which could be filled by the majority of players on this team

The Leafs defence is not all that bad but it is more of a team defence that needs to be improved. Kappy actually is one Leaf who understands how to play defence so he is not going anywhere.

Yeah that’s not even close. Pulock is the isles best dman (right now, Dobson will be their #1 in a few years) and they also are without pelech. You’d have to give up quite a bit to get Pulock.

Take the price you’re uncomfortable paying for him and add to it by a lot. The isles have absolutely no reason to move him so you’d have to pry him off that roster. Plus the isles are in win now mode so they’d need impact players now, which Pulock is so once again, you’d have to pry him off.

He's not overrated but he's not a finished polished project, but niether is Nylander

They are influenced by reading other people's comments on this site and still think hes on a great contract. People are overating his defensive impact a ton. His isolated impact isnt great, Ceci's offensive impact is better. I dont have his play driving numbers on me but if I remember correctly they arent anything special.

Last season the islanders had a 56 expected goal share with pulock on the ice and he a 3.57 expected goals for per 60 rate. He plays against teams opposing teams lines in a defensive minded system ( still on pace for 43 pts even though he has only 41% O zone starts). He is a very solid top pairing defenseman

Nylander will be 24 by the time next season starts and is on a way better contract. Pulock will be 26 and pretty much is what he is. His next contract wont be great either. His defensive play is extremely overrated

I would love to have him on the leafs but nylander is way to much. At the very least hes a #3 on a contender but you wouldn't want to have him as a #2. I think hes a product of the isles system and to say hes worth nylander is insane, ges on pace for 40 goals this season

He’s not a product of the isles system - he had a good season before trotz got here. Last season pulock isolated D impact was very good and he led the isles in eWAR. His isolated D impact isn’t great this season but he has overall been solid top pairing D.

And responding to your previous comment on isles getting outshot with him on the ice - he does start 59% in the Dzone and in trotz system, he does not care if the opposing team spends a lot of time in our zone as long as the shots are kept to the outside.
