It’s that time of the year man...pre deadline and pre free agency it’s like people try to speak it into existence and fail every time.

I think the cost to dump him is 2 is 2nd rounders. Or a 2nd and significant retention. He's a 700k player on a 3.25M contract

I think that’s fair and the pens should do it. My viewpoint is that if they can trade draft picks to improve the team via additon they should be able to do the same to improve via subtraction.

Jack Johnson has been good this year though. He's never going to provide offense but he shouldn't cost very much to drop his contract anymore.

I hope that’s the case and I honestly think he’s the type of dude you have be part of a rebuild because he’s experienced and even though I can’t stand the on ice product he seems like a genuinely good person.

if he gets moved it's in the offseason or the beginning of the season much like Gudbranson, to a team that needs a player due to injury for the year.
I still think the ideal trading place for him is detroit.

Their blue line sucks.
They got Nemeth, DeKeyser who is always hurt(65, 52, 8 games in the last 3 years), and then Cholowski who is either A not ready, or B a bust depending on how you view him.
He'd be their 2nd best Dman and that's saying something.
At best he becomes a stop gap for them. At worst they carry 1 extra year of that contract.

Detroit works in theory but I feel like all those young defensive prospects they have might make it become slightly far fetched. But yeah I totally agree it’ll be an offseason or early next year thing...I’m pretty amped about Zucker but adding $5.5M to an already cap strapped team is gonna lead to some interesting cap decisions in order to maintain the forward and most of the defensive core over time.

Not Montreal but a rebuilding team like the Sens would probably take him at the draft for like a 4th.

I wouldn't even take him for a 2nd unless 40-50% of his salary was retained... Ottawa doesnt need LHD.
