I looked at the trade from the Jets' perspective and I don't think they would take this offer. Sheary is UFA and is a comparable in production to Perreault. Rodriques is $2M buried in the minors. Montour would be a great add but if the cost is Roslovic and Lowry, I would think that the Jets would pass.

I tried to look at it that taking on Perreault and Lowry frees up cap space for Jets next year. They don't have to sign Sheary or ERod but they fill in for the rest of year. So basically it is Montour for Roslivic.

If the Jets did clear out both Perreault and Lowry's contracts on top of Byfuglien's, they would have approximately $15M in cap space next year to find 3 UFAs. Ideally that would land them 2 top 4 D and a middle 6 forward.Not sure if the Jets want that big of shoes to fill in a competitive market for UFAs.
