I agree with you. This team doesn't have that "it" factor that's been a part of previous successful teams. They're shooting pucks back into goalies instead of the other half of the net that's wide open. Caggiula, Kubalik, and Dach all did that just last night. Their passing is off, I've never seen DeBrincat play so bad. Either he misses the net, or shoots it right into the goalies chest. I think the hawks have to move Lehner, Saad, and Gustafsson. Collect as many first rounders as possible, try to move Seabrook in the offseason with one of those 1sts and a prospect. Boqvist and Mitchell are the future of the right side with Murphy being a nice compliment. Maatta is useless, trade him or buy him out, no matter to me. Keith De Haan Gilbert on the left sounds great with Koekkoek and Seeler as extras. They will have tons of cap space to bring some good forwards in. I'd take a long look at Haula. I think they really need to add more proven skill players. Nylander was not proven and he's still struggling. Strome is another conundrum but I think he could have a successful bounce back season next year, but as a 3C? That's not easy. There's just so much going on with this team it's very difficult to navigate their future.
