Necas Niederreiter Gauthier 3 way

Created by: MNBassman

Initial Creation Date: Feb. 13, 2020

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I Need help with this. My idea is for the Wild to acquire Necas, Niederreiter, and Gauthier...retain salary on Niederreiter and move him to a team that could use his services at a $1.5-2million discount. Is that enough retained to make him desirable in a trade?
Cirelli is a pipe dream, I realize that...

Nino has a higher value than a 3rd...or most teams would get him....esp if he is retained

You couldn’t even get Necas 1;1 for Dumba

Which is why I asked the question, “What would need to be added here?” AND made the statement, “I need help with this.”
Although I think it’s closer than you realize...

This. ^

Not denigrating Dumba, you’ll get a big return for him. You are not getting Necas....period.

Bro, unless Kaprizov, E Staal and a 1st are coming our way, Necas isn't going to Minnesota

Canes have a nice prospect cupboard, and perhaps there is a deal out there that convinces them to give up Suzuki, for the right price. Necas though, absolutely not. While no player is truly untouchable, I would say Necas is pretty off-limits. While I am sure Bill Guerin is going to plenty unreasonable in his ask for Dumba, Brodin, etc., if you wanted something resembling a fair deal, in my opinion, of course, it would look something like this:

To Canes: Matt Dumba, Jonas Brodin, Jordan Greenway
To Wild: Jake Bean, Ryan Suzuki, Julien Gauthier, Jake Gardiner, 2020 1st Round Draft Pick (CAR), 2020 2nd Round Draft Pick (CAR)

**You would have to include Gardiner for cap reasons, but I do believe after this deal, the numbers work.

Obviously that was a little exaggerated, but it's gonna take more than a roster player of Minnesota to get Necas

I don’t think the trades work but I really don’t see how Tampa could possibly match that offer sheet, but I’d only do it if we traded Dumba for a 1st rounder and a player first, so the extra 1st would go towards the offer sheet

I've opened the can of Necas worms on here before, doesn't usually go too well. I think if we want him it'll cost us Dumba or Brodin, and then we'd also have to give up a young forward like Greenway or Donato or maybe even Kunin as much as I hate to even mention him. To make the cap space work we might also be looking at swapping Stalock for Mrazek, and we'd likely have to take Edmundson back as well. To balance all that, maybe Carolina throws in a 2nd or 3rd or something. But that's kind of the only way I see it working. I think Suzuki and a 1st is a lot more realistic, though, and then we take Edmundson or TVR for cap purposes.

Here’s a crazy idea for you. I want everyone’s rational opinion on this: Dumba, Kaprizov, and Staal for Necas, Gauthier, Suzuki, and the Canes’ 2020 1st round pick???
Breakdown: Kaprizov for Necas - this has to be close, Dumba for Suzuki and the 1st - most people seem ok with this, Staal for Gauthier.
