As a Kings guy, I love Toffoli and he's starting to heat up, but even I don't hold out hope for a first for him. I'd do a deal for your 2020 second and conditional 2021 third, elevating to a second if TT re-ups or you guys get to the Final in either year.

2nd and decent prospect. Or 2nd this year. 3rd next. More than that...pass.

This doesn’t make sense to me. Not the value, well, I think it’s way too much, but that’s neither here nor there.

If they had a deal in the back pocket, it would stand to reason that it centers around a name, not a pick. Picks are picks. It wouldn’t make any sense for the Kings express that kind of agreement for a deal with picks.

Not ready to do it now? Cool. Other teams have picks too and were gonna shop the guy.

If it’s about a player, that changes everything.

This is where business intersects with hockey. Its all a game to the business men, you take him "off the table", it changes the value. All of a sudden he is back on the table. Blah Blah Blah...
Its annoying, but I think his value will remain at a 2nd and a midllevel prospect unless something drastic happens. (maybe a conditional 4th if he really is bumped up)

if thats the case than BOS shouldnt go for toffoli. If they gonna pay a 1st for toffoli than they should just go for kase or palmieri

Still a rental putting up just ok numbers. Supply and demand not that big of an affect considering other teams might start adding to the supply as we get closer to deadline.

I heard on Sirius XM NHL that the price for him is two 3rd round picks or a 3rd and a prospect that's equivalent to a 3rd round pick. So maybe Steen or Lauko?

I don't think so. Most good GMs work from the inside out, i.e., asking what does my team need rather than what is available out there. I think that the price only goes up with competition when the player involved is special, e.g., Mark Stone last year.
