Huge rant here as a leaf fan to leaf fans.

Copy pasted this from a comment reply i made in another ACGM from Leaf fans expecting to get a top 4 RHD for garbage.

"This is what i dont understand of other Leaf fans, everyone wants a Top 4 RHD. But you are not willing to give anything of actual value back. You want Dumba but you only are willing to give a 2nd round pick at most. If you want something of value you need to exchange something of value. 1 1/2 Years of Muzzin was worth a 1st, a Top 9 Prospect and a Solid Junior prospect. Do you actually think 3 1/2 Years of Dumba is going to cost you LESS? I can tell you now the price STARTS with Liljegren (Top 4 Defence prospect) & at least a Top 9 Junior prospect or a 1st/2nd"

Any Leaf fan who thinks you are going to get Dumba for Dermott, Bracco & a 2nd needs to either

A: Stop complaining about bad defence because you are unwilling to pay to get it.

B: honestly look at past trade history in determining value.

As to people complaining about the cap hit to not be able to resign XYZ player. I want Muzzin to resign as well However, Rielly, Sandin, Dermott is a pretty good LHD to me. If you have Dumba, Holl, X Free Agent i am not going to complain as you are going to have weakness' with 40m tied into 4 players.

Muzzin is actually like.... good. Dumba's only good part is the term, he's defensively suspect. He's a bad fit for Toronto in general

Wake up call to people who think dumba can play defence...

Muzzin was attained with zero roster players. 2 B-prospects. Also the leafs do not have a first....so... yeah..,

take into consideration that most people are saying it starts with nylander for dumba which is outrageous, minny also wants a number 1 center for dumba which is crazy, so this goes both ways

Ah yes because having 40 million tied up between 4 spectacular players is a bad thing.

Open your eyes and take a good look at dumba. Hes an overpaid 2nd pairing defenseman who needs to be sheltered

They really don't need another LD. Dumba's just not worth it, especially for the Leafs. The only reason he's talked about, at all, is because he's available and shoots right. And he big, but he sucks defensively.

I don't understand the rant here. It is not up to Leafs' fans to pay for anything. It is up to the actual team, which has proven they are willing to pay for it (aka Muzzin trade). If anything, the complaining seems to be coming from those outside of the Leafs' fanbase that often takes a rather strong position at some of these AGMs. This is a place for people to be creative. Obviously if someone's AGM title reads "realistic..." then sure, let them have it, but I honestly cannot see what peoples' problems are on here. To your second point, if you look at the comps, and the Muzzin deal last year, most fans should get a sense as to what a Dumba-type defenseman would cost.
