3) Sign Kreider 7MM for 6 years.
4) Sign Fast (2.5MM), DeAngelo (Arb should only give him 3.5ish), Strome (4.5MM) and Lemieux (1.75MM)

So do you have a 39 year old goalie play at $1M a year forever? If Georgiev can bring back a Kevin Lebanc, trade him. Otherwise, why not at least for next year have $4.25M saved if a team will trade for him? Shat buyout is bad next year that $ saved from Hank can be very important.

DeAngelo is getting bigger dollars than that. Nurse just got 2 years @5.6 from EDM as a pending RFA , Arbitration eligible , RHD. He can get 5 + in arbitration if he keeps up this type of offensive production. maybe a bridge deal 2 years , 5.25 -5.75

Strrome also a pending RFA with arbitration rights, don't see him getting more than a 1 year deal ,(see Kevin Hayes from last year) NYR dont want to block Chyilt or Kravstov with a longer term deal to RS. Maybe 2 years , but if he gets-55 -65 (hes currently on pace for 70!) points its gonna be 5 plus million.

Dollars & term are about right on Quickie (i'd guess 3 @2.75 per
Same with Lemieuex (I'd guess 2 years 1.625 per)
Geogiev (if hes still a NYR) - 2 years @ 2.225 per)
Phil G will get another one year deal if he signs his QO so 750-800 K

Id like to see CK stay in Blue would love to move the term down to 5 but I'm thinking 6 years @ 6.5 per might make it work to extend him pre-deadline, Skjei , Strome or DeAngleo get moved if CK extends .

Don't like that Skjei deal. need more in that return,
Hanks buyout number of 5.5 next year in dead money... yeesh. I think they move AG at the TDL or at the draft, & he comes back as the back up to Igor or....... he retires.

hes 37 rn and still has it... georgiev will bring back a young player and maybe a pick likely at the draft this point and when hanks contract is up we either resign him to a 1 year contract or we have one of the 3 goalie prospects come play backup (huska, wall, lindbom). Plus georgiev will want a starter's role sooner or later.

I just have a fear that if they don’t trade Hank that they’d buy him out which comes with a dead cap hit the following year. Georgiev is a RFA for I think 4 more years so he can get traded at any point.

the rangers traded brian leetch. you think they wouldn't move or buy out hank? of course they would, and probably will.

the opposite. financially it's more beneficial for hank to be bought out than sign with a contender. hank doesn't want to be traded because he makes millions outside of hockey in the new york market. why would he wave his nmc if he can be bought out then sign with whatever team he wants? if larry brooks says he is getting bought out, i believe it. in over 20 years i've been reading his articles he never been wrong when he says something is a fact.

hank is due to make 4.5 mill next season. if he is bought out he'll make 4 mill over two seasons. he isn't waiving his nmc. bought out or nothing.

Watching Hank has been an amazing experience but he's not good now and I'd much rather have Shesterkin, kreider, and Georgie than sit around for his sad last season. Find one stat that proves Hank is replacement level. I'll wait.

Arbitration takes into account your last contract, it doesn't pay a 23 year old market rate based on points when he's had a career year. He's not getting Carlson money.

That's why I made this roster, I wanted to see if we could keep this year's core together and re-sign the important mid/long term pieces (Kreider, DeAngelo, Lemieux, Fast, & Georgiev). $11MM in dead space for 2 players next year stinks but we have so many NHL-ready pieces on their ELC that we can deal with it for a season. Keeping continuity and leadership would be the #1 priority IMO. Then when that dead cap money comes down in 2022 you can look at adding more interesting pieces and paying our RFAs instead of trading their rights away.

Skjei is fine, but not worth the term/money. Lundqvist is a legend but all things must end and we need the money to keep the players who will be relevant next year and beyond.

Carlson makes 8 million per, , im saying Tony D is getting at least what Nurse is getting (Ballpark) , same age, same position, same RFA status, & TDA has far better offensive numbers & climbing.
FLames signed Rasmus Andersson to a six-year deal carrying an AAV of $4.55 million.
MARCUS PETTERSSON 5 YEARS - $20,125,875 - AAV = $4,025,175
If they give him 2 years to get him to UFA status he may take less dollars. But its still going to be a 4.75-5.5 type number.

I wouldn’t want to give TDA 2 years, 3 years minimum. Don’t want him in 2 years to get in the $8M range. Give him 3 in $5-.5M range and trade him in 3 years when Miller/Nils/Keane are up for deals.

They are taking him to arb, lock it in. The difference with all the contracts you cited is that they paid market value before they needed to. The rangers don't have that luxury and they already hardballed him this past off-season. Maybe he gets an offer sheet, I don't think we'd match. But if they were going to extend him they would have. I'd love to see him back on Broadway but it's obvious he still has to earn trust/respect for more than 1 year. There is no way he is making a penny over 4.25 as a ranger next year.
