Well you probably don't want to help a conference rival get better when you have other options. I think the point was Dreger said Kapanen wasn't enough so Leafs fans lost their minds, I don't think anything actually drove up the price.

If not for Kahkonen in the system it would be. I think he becomes the next Wild starter.

The reality is neither Dubnyk or Stalock have been very good this season. Even if it means having 2 young goalies next year, I'd be ok with them getting rid of both of them this summer and going into next season with Kahkonen and Georgiev to see which, if any, emerges as their starter of the future. They have a couple other guys in the pipeline, but they're further behind in their development and won't be ready for another few years at least.

I think if Wild could get Georgiev for Greenway it would be a done deal. I think Rangers want more. Wild are not going to pay more until they bring Kahkonen up for 10 games later this year to see if he is ready to start.

Trading him for a goalie that’s no better than what you have. Ahhh no. The feee agent market for goalies is good this year as well. This is a waste. Georgiev is not your answer, he’s backup caliber.

Georgiev is far better than what we have. Running with Georgiev and Kahkonen next season to see which one becomes the next starter and then flipping the other one is a far better scenario than keeping Greenway and going through another season with Dubynk and/or Stalock starting games.

He isn’t. Sorry. Just fact. He had a hot streak. Goalies do that. Rangers have been trying to play him less so as not to reduce his trade value. More they play him more he’s exposed. Better off hitting the feee agent market in the off-season.

If the Rags would take Donato for Georgiev, I would do it, but not for Greenway.
