You clearly haven't been watching him at all this season... tied for lead league in SH goals has vastly improved the PK. Call him overpaid as much as you want but a player who was easily getting 6.5M on the open market getting 600K more isn't that big of a deal

MTL fans can't evaluate their own players properly nevermind other franchises. Hayes is your Danault. You guys will probably be handing him over 6M next contract, and that's not on an open market. A few 100k over, sure.... but Hayes has not been a letdown at all.

He might not be on an outrageous point pace but he's brought so much more to the team than points. He producing at an alright pace and he wasn't brought in to be the top point producer on the team. He's also on pace to tie his career high in goals and if he wasn't a flyer the team would have a real problem at center which right now is a strong point for this team even with Patrick being out.

We will be handing Danault 4-5M on his next contract
NOT 6

I still just don't think Hayes should have that contract, maybe 6.5-7
