So they can make a playoff run and have someone to play alongside Crosby and Malkin. That’s not a bad trade for Pittsburgh

For the return. Kerfoot puts up Zucker-like offensive numbers (mid-40's points), but from the 3rd line. He is also better defensively, and is $2M less cap hit for 3+ years. He is the 3C Rutherford has been looking for. Plus a 2nd and 4th for good measure. If selling the farm for Zucker is okay, then this trade is good to go.

I am not targeting Kerfoot myself, but just going with the suggested trade.

No way. Marino is a cost controlled young RHD that is already a 2nd pairing defender. He is the reason Rutherford felt comfortable trading Addison. You would have to overpay wildly to get Marino. This isn't cutting it.

Kerfoot isn't a winger. 0-1
McCann is far better at wing than 3C. 0-2
Bjugstad is basically a failure on the Pens. 0-3

So, ahhhhhh, ya...
