It just looks like a player for player trade. Risto for Kase and Rod for Shore. From a Sabres perspective I think you’ll have to do Risto and a third with it being conditional and if it met, it gets upgraded to a second. There are other teams that could possibly offer more especially coming to the TDL

Anaheim shouldn't consider this, but Murray isn't the brightest bulb....

Would prefer the Henrique for Colin Miller + Oskari Laaksonen deal that's been discussed a bit. I'm not a big fan of Ristolainen and think he's overpaid. For me, that's too much money at RD. We need a cheaper, PP specialist + young prospects coming through, not another huge contract we could potentially lose at the Seattle draft.

Unfortunately, you guys don't have a third this year or next. I would do Ristolainen and two fourths for Kase and Shore.

I would acquire Ristolainen in a heartbeat if I knew that Seattle would take him next summer and keep their hands off our other players. But that's too speculative.

I don't like any of Buffalo's prospects other than Laaksonen, and I don't think that the Sabres would include Risto and Laaksonen in the same deal, and they don't have any imminent third-rounders, and a second-rounder is too much to ask, so about the best we could do along these lines is Risto and two fourths for Kase and Shore. That wouldn't disappoint me terribly.

Fair enough. I don't rate Risto. IMO, he's an #4/5 guy and PP specialist. He'd be a better option on our 3rd pairing and manning our PP than Colin Miller, but he's too expensive. Personally, I wouldn't feel comfortable committing to a guy like that. However, I understand your viewpoint. I wouldn't be disappointed if we moved Kase + for Risto, I'd just be concerned. Like you said, what would we do at the Seattle draft if we have Lindholm, Fowler, Manson, Risto and Gudbranson to deal with?
