Ok so who is next to coach Wild - also Leafs trade for Brodin

Created by: SammyT_51
Team: 2019-20 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 14, 2020
Published: Feb. 14, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
MIN
  1. Dermott, Travis
  2. Kerfoot, Alexander
Additional Details:
Kerfoot for Staal (one is young and locked up for longer (has potential), which benefits Wild, other is older and locked up for less years but would help now)

Dermott is basically younger version of Brodin. I dont see Leafs adding pick, but maybe a prospect of some sorts yes.

I don’t get the firing, the Wild have been 7-3-1 in their last 11 games, unless Guerin is trying to tank

I actually feel bad for the guys. It’s not his fault he has nothing to work with

Boudreau sucks be time. He blew FOUR YEARS IN A ROW 3-2 series lead when he coached the Ducks... the guy doesn't deserve another job.

All jokes aside, this trade isn't too bad for both teams.

Here's a delve into devious thinking: maybe Guerin's trying to get everyone fired up to play a little harder so he can have a better idea of what each player's potential is for the bloodletting sure to come this summer.

Could you not say the same thing about Barry Trotz before the Capitals won?

Ugh

It might be ugh-ly, but it’s required if you want Brodin

When did Brodin became so overvalued? Did people realize that he has been carrying Dumba in this bad time just before TDL? LOL

Id do 1st but it would require a good prospect with that wild package.

This is from a recent article by Dom Lusczyszyn of the Athletic. “ Jonas Brodin

Brodin might be one of the game’s best defensive defenders, severely limiting chances and goals against whenever he’s on the ice. He’s a big part of the Wild’s identity in that regard and is having an excellent year with arguably the best defensive impact (a combination of expected goals against and goals against). It’s been such a strong year that my model projects him to have the largest impact defensively going forward of any player. Brodin doesn’t have much to offer offensively, but he would be a terrific addition for a team looking up to shore things up in that department if the Wild decide to move him. Given his value, I’m not sure they should unless the offer knocks their socks off.”
Add to this the fact that he is on pace for 30+ points this year (2 last night) and you can see why he is so valuable.
