Columbus hysterically laughs at your offer.

Why in the world we would we trade our leading goal scorer for a player who’s rumored to be uncoachable and a RHD who’s a rental and would be on our 3rd d pair if everyone was healthy? Lmao this is really a bad trade for Columbus that they don’t even consider.

Uncoachable? Wood? That's a new one!
I quite honestly think Wood has taken his directives from our bonehead coaches way too much to heart!
When he was wheeling and hitting things he was a much better player pre-suspension, (thought-wise) Now he always hesitates and the play passes him by.
He woudl be twice the player if he got back to flyin Miles!

Well when you consider that your GM traded two 2nd round picks along with Duclair for a UFA named Dzingel. Then traded a 1st, a conditional 1st, and 2 prospective players for a UFA named Duchene... Well, respectively, I think anything could happen.

None of which were leading the team in goals... they also helped fill a hole in the line up. We needed a 2nd line center at the deadline last year. Duchene was the player to fill the hole, we also added Dzingle as he was having a good year in Ottawa but did nothing in Columbus.

But in neither of those trade did we move our leading goal scorer.... especially for players we have no need for.

You didn't move a leading scorer.. but your GM was delusional and thought you could actually win the cup by trading for UFAs with 1st and 2nd round picks... my point here is... your GMS incompetence to know real value

I’m assuming you’re a Detroit fan who doesn’t know what it’s like to concisely be told next year, we’ll go for it next year. That’s what happens every year... so when Columbus was about to lose it’s 2 best players in Panarin and Bobrovsky, Jarmo said screw it this is the year we make a run at it. No more next year BS, we try for it now. So why not go get the players to fill the holes in your roster and make a try for it. We did finally win a playoff round vs Tampa last year. Then lost to the eastern conference champs in Boston.

But as a red wings fan who knows mostly of winning, you wouldn’t understand what Jarmo did for the franchise, yes we sold a lot of prospects and picks for a chance at the cup, but he also told the fan base that we aren’t just playing for next year anymore. He took a swing and landed a single, not the home run other fan bases were expecting.

So for most jacket fans it wasn’t about winning the cup, it was about a GM having some balls to say we’re done playing for a chance at a run next year. We make our run now. But you wouldn’t understand that as you’ve never been in that situation of wait till next year being said every year.
