Devils nation declines with a card that reads Let's BEE serious with apologies to Niko and Jack Coleman is the best player on our team.

In theory, I have no real issues with any of these deals. All of Foligno, Rowney and Coleman can play 200-foot games, can all play the gritty game and can all kill penalties. My question is can Jonas Brodin actually play on the right side? It didn't work with Muzzin, it didn't work with Dermott. It would almost be be more worth it for the Leafs to get Damon Severson from the Devils, instead of Jonas Brodin, if the cost for Brodin was both Dermott and Kerfoot. Severson is not nearly as good in his own end as Brodin, but I think he is plenty underrated and has 2 more years on his contract than does Brodin.

If the Leafs were actually serious about contending, they would stick with Liljegren for the rest of the season and move Barrie. While he a decent power play guy, and decent might be an overstatement, he has been as bad as, if not worse, then Ceci in our own end. Sandin should handle first line PP work until Rielly gets back and Muzzin can handle second line PP work.

until Johnsson / Mikheyev come back from injury, perhaps yes, he would be the "Hyman" for that line.

if you prefer Coleman can move up to 2nd Foligno to 3rd/4th with Clifford, or Engvall can go to LW

just curious what would you want as a Devils GM; wingers (to go with the young C's?) or D or even G; i think TML would have sufficient pieces that could work for Coleman

agreed with the brodin stuff, initially i had him on the Left till 44 gets back, thats when choices need to be made.

the part about Brodin i did like is that he would be a natural replacement (at maybe $2m less) for Muzzin next year; and then in 2 years Sandin can take the #2 LHD spot, and hopefully a Kral/Teemu/UFA guy as #3

I don't think you move Coleman. His game gets better and better and his chemistry with Goose has given us an excellent 1st line listed as a second line. If he keeps growing he has star potential. I wouldn't trade him for anything less than a crazy offer.
