Congrats on getting a great young player for a criminally low salary.

Good to see they remember he is on their roster, Solid signing kids got a good ceiling as a physical 3rd pairing defenseman, maybe more if he unlocks something.

They remember. He's still young, is learning the hardest part of the game and battling a solid D-core depth chart.
He's looked good when he's in, will be on the playoff roster and hopefully by 2020-21 puck drop he's a regular w/ the big club; win-win!

Good redemption contract after the bad Coyle and Wagner contracts.

Have you seen Coyle play?
He's a bull who wants the puck and drags his linemates into the hustle. IMO he's gonna be a steal if he keeps up this play!!

Fair enough, I completely understand wanting a guy to earn his way in, the only issue i have is I think he has higher upside and has been playing better than many of the guys they are running out there. Namely Moore and Clifton (Not that those guys have been bad).

Hey Pat, you have a good point. Can't say for sure but it might come down to the following:
* Entry-level politics and not wanting to burn a year of FA on Lauzon?
* Cliffy seems to have regressed yeah but he was good late last year, so when healthy, I think Butch might want to see that again?
* Lately, I think Moore has been a bit better and his recent minutes may be as a showcase for trade or as a trade piece?
Cheers

I think you hit the nail on the head with all those points, it's definitely a combo of all that, plus the fact that Moore was injured earlier in the year and is a vet so they probably want to give him a fair shake. Problem is I don't think Moore's contract is movable without stapling a asset to it. Maybe your right and by playing him some team is gonna take a shot on him, but if that doesn't come to pass eventually you have to find a way to massage Lauzon into the lineup.

One extra on Moore, is he will be expansion eligible at least and left un-protected.
If he's taken great. If he stays, he'll fit in and be experienced with the group and off they go...

For Lauzon, clock is unfortunately ticking on LD Krug. If he doesn't sign, then Lauzon's place next year has just basically been signed-sealed-and-delivered by Sweeney today.

Dude has 2 NHL points in 23 total NHL games ... 5 years after being drafted.

Did you expect Boston to hand him the bag?
