Dawn of a New Era

Created by: RalphMac
Team: 2019-20 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 14, 2020
Published: Feb. 14, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
MIN
  1. Domi, Max
  2. Mete, Victor
  3. Poehling, Ryan
Additional Details:
Brodin is a certified stud and has a ton of value. I look at it as brodin for domi and mete, donato and the first for poehling (which is probably overvalued for him but just a thought)
MTL
  1. Brodin, Jonas ($400,000 retained)
  2. Donato, Ryan ($800,000 retained)
  3. 2020 1st round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
retention is just to balance salaries as best as i can without doing math. Many would disagree with moving the pick from pitt, but its basically a second rounder IMO

I'd rather move Dumba and Donato for Domi, Mete and a pick

I just can't figure out why most of you want the Wild to get Domi?
If you want a number 2 center, which is what I think he is, then you are better off waiting and seeing how far away Khovanov is next year.
Domi's numbers to me do not look like number 1 center numbers.
I think the Wild need to find a true number 1, I think Domi is better than what we have at the moment, but I can't stand the thought of the Wild settling on more average.
Wild are better off clearing cap space and acquiring prospects and picks with a few exceptions and staying patient.

Domi put up 72 in his first year with MTL, and (like dumba) is having a down year. IMO Domi is solid and a new team/system may help him excel. ESPECIALLY playing with talent like Kap on the left. People had the same thoughts about Fiala when we traded for him and currently he is playing like a certified star.

Fiala was 22. I get he is having a down year. 72 is a good number, but you don't pay for what a player use to be in hopes they do it again. Look how far Dumbas value has dropped on this site.

At current moment
Brodin > or = to Domi
Donato > Poehling
1st round pick > or = Mete
Plus you are retaining salary. Wild can not afford to lose trades.

I hear you, and don't necessarily disagree with you. Comparing Brodin to Domi isn't really fair, Domi has more "production," whereas Brodin does a lot nobody sees and don't get me wrong I love Brodin. I don't necessarily think the Wild lose this trade. Poehling has only had a sniff of the league, and he has a high ceiling, higher than donato. And I would call the first rounder from PITT more of a second rounder IMO.

Also imagine Kap - Domi - Fiala buzzin around the ice on a line

I'd take a loooong look at this offer if I'm Bergevin. I'd get thinner at Center by giving 2 of them away but it's a tempting offer for sure.
