Monahan having a bad year? Not the first time I've seen a Flames fan discussing trading him.

To get Kreider, it's a 1st+prospect, or a conditional pick and slightly better prospect, ideally a winger with some scoring touch/upside that is NHL ready or close to it. I'd love to snag a Mathias Emilio Petterson, but he's probably a bit too high of a prospect for the Flames to give up. Buch is a similar thing probably but a bit less; it's weird because Buch is def on the block a little bit but is also the type of player we are hoping for prospects like; a younger cost controlled winger with offensive ability.

Well he's taken a step back from last year and I think a lot of people are still sour about his playoff performance. I think that between him and Gaudreau's playoff drop off and step back this year that people are just kind of fed up with them and their nonsense. They are supposed to be the best players on this team and leading this team but they're simply not. Plus with all the injuries on defense and lack of offense from the D they should be expected to step up. And the both of them need to be scoring to be productive and they're not scoring at their regular pace. It's not that they're having a bad season, it's just that they need to step up right now and in the playoffs and instead they've stepped back in scoring and don't really bring anything else to the table.

Maybe? I think they want a body that's close to the NHL more than they want the picks, the team wants to contend as soon as next year if that's possible. They might be able to flip the picks at the draft for something, but I think they'd really like to get a close to NHL ready player back rather than a pick that will take 2-4 years to be ready.
