There is a rule about Leaf rumours.
If a player is in a ton of them, he wont be a Leaf, if he is in some of them, he might be.
Dumba has been rumoured far too much for me to believe he will be a Leaf. Plus I am not a big fan of him - like at all.

You're not the GM, clearly he's a big fan.

I stopped drinking the Dumba kool-aid because I realized it was making me sick. I can not believe the fascination with Dumba who is being made out to be the next Bobby Orr in Minnesota.

Are you in the room with him? Because by all accounts the Leafs are interested in Dumba. As a Wild fan, I wouldn't be interested in moving him there because I don't see a return that makes sense but it seems bound to happen.

you're missing the point. Telling someone they arnt the GM or arnt in the room is absolutely meaningless when you too are not the GM or in the room. As far as "by all accounts" the leafs are interested, two sports talking heads have mentioned it outside of re-reporting. Two. Neither of them are particularly good at predicting leaf rumours.

I don't know who said anything on the Leafs side, but Russo is pretty plugged in when it comes to what the Wild are doing and who they're talking to though. Reported multiple trades that were legit on the table in the past and didn't end up working out (like the Coyotes Zucker, Nino deal and the Calgary Zucker one). 95% of the time the things he mentions either actually happen or are legitimately being talked about and fall through, he doesn't just blow smoke. I would trust that the Leafs are interested.

And? The Leafs are notorious for keeping things whisper quiet before trades. If Russo is leaking anything at this point it's that the wild told him something to pump Dumba's value. Teams use the Leafs interest as leverage literally all the time, there is a reason they are "in" on every big trade name or UFA. This also comes in on the hilarious rumours that the Wild want a 1C in return for Dumba and Brodin, this comes off way more as value damage control than anything else

Well looks like they could be getting Domi for Brodin, that's a potentially 1C if it happens

The only Toronto player that Guerin would like is Nylander. Getting a young offensive center is the only reason they would tear appart their D core.

Nylander for Dumba, Brodin, Donato🤔

It would be absolutely hilarious if 2 teams got conned into thinking Domi was a 1C

Do you really think that Dumba can actually play better defence than Justin Holl who started his career in the ECHL?

We all know that Dumba plays defence like Tyson Barrie in that they are both really like an extra forward rover on the ice but really bad in their defensive zone

Leafs would need to trade similar cap back to Minni for Dumba. So really would the Leafs (or Minni) be any better? Just don't see Dumba making that much of a difference to the Leafs. Even if the Leafs make the playoffs are they advancing to the second rounder...doubtful.

Minnesota would be better if Kapanen went the other way, anything else and it's a wash.

This by far the truth.

Remember the Georgiev rumours? Who'd we get? Campbell.
So Dumba if nothing else smoke screen for like say McAvoy.

A year ago I thought Dumba would be a good fit in Toronto but since then I've realized that Dumba is is going to bring the things the current D core lacks.

Value aside, I don't understand how such a trade works for the Leafs.
