Cap Hell 6- I did this five other times

Description
Are the forwards better? Yes. The bottom six looks much better defensively and perhaps Kase is the winger for Horvat.
Is the defence better? Maybe not. But salary is manageable and I’d expect team d to be better with forwards like Foligno that are tough to play against.
Is goaltending better? No. It’s probably worse. But goalies are weird and paying Markstrom expecting his next two years to look like his last two is unrealistic (the Bobvrovsky rule).
Can they sign the guys they want? Yes. This roster seems like one where key guys can be kept and players could be added over time.
Did you trade all the young guys? Gaudette, Lind, DiPietro, a pick. I’d say that’s fine. Hoglander, Podkolzin, Madden, Juolevi, Rathbone is an alright pool and it’s important to remember Gaudette is not young, he’s actually in that Horvat Virtanen age group where we probably know what we have in him. He’s not bumping Horvat or EP, and I don’t think he can anchor a two-way line.

Kulak sucks. You can get much more than a 7th D for DiPietro. Also, should wait for him to be even better at the AHL level so VAN can get more

Pretty sure Myers trade protection will have NJ on his no go list.

Well, I’m glad I’m not overrating Canucks!

Kulak is underrated I think. If Dipietro returned a late pick with Kulak (4th?) I’d be fine with that also.

Foligno is quietly the best defensive winger in the NHL not named Mark Stone. He only has a year left which reduces his value. Maybe I underrate Gaudette. If so, I’d be happy to get a higher pick back in trade.

That’s an excellent point. It’s probably Buffalo, Jersey, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Long Island, and five more. I’d imagine he’d allow a trade to any team on the West Coast.
