You're the one that said last time a 2nd rnd pick is good enough to take on Alzner, and you also stated that DET wants a 2nd rnd pick and a B prospect for AA. I'm giving 2 2nds and 2 B prospects. I might have more time in my hands but that OG kush you're consuming is clearly fogging your memory.

COL is stacked on D prospects and VGK is stacked on C prospects. Makes these trades more digestible. You probably would make the COL trade if Domi was on course to put uo last year's numbers. Also with Kadri out, he's the ideal replacement, cause he can also play wing when Kadri gets back.

As for the VGK trade...I don't think you know how vital Danault and Petry would be to a cup contender. And they get to have them for 2 playoff runs since they got 1 more yr of term after this season. They better resign Danault in the offseason. Go ask Hawks fans what they think of the trade that sent Danault to MTL.

More to the avs trade bc yeah that’s a wild ride of logic putting byram into a trade bc kadri could be out only for 3 more weeks

That's not the focal point of the trade. Its just by coincidence that Kadri happens to be injured NOW and Domi can handle 2nd line C. I'm basically trading you a 25 yo RFA, playmaking, 25 goal scoring freaking pitbull that can play wing and C seamlessly, amd could be huge piece for now and at least the next 7 yrs especially for playoff runs. COL is more desperate for a cup right now, and since they have piled up on really good D prospects... I want the best 1 wink supply and demand.

Yeah the Avs would pass regardless. Last years numbers for Domi is the outlier he only has 1 other 50pt season and he is owed a contract. You don’t trade a potential #1 dman for a 50pt player. As for the Avs being stacked on d prospects, Byram will be with the Avs next year, then there is Timmins and then a big drop down to Helleson. Byram on his ELC balances out the huge contract Makar is going to get and the getting increasingly worse contract of EJ.

How are the Avs desperate now? MacKinnon contract is in place for 4 years, they currently have a ton of cap space, they have the prospects in place Byram, Timmins, Newhook and Bowers to slide them into the line up increasing the talent level on ELC’s while giving guys they want to keep raises (Burakovsky, Nichushkin, Graves, Makar) while cycling guys out like Nieto, PEB, maybe even Jost. Don’t going messing with that, this team also minus Burakovsky, Kadri, Donskoi, and PEB made it to game 7 of the 2nd rd. Joe did the heavy lifting when he should have, in the off season.

Iets simplify this, if avs did want to part with byram it’s for a bigger deal and for a considerably better player than Domi

Avs are not desperate they are built to be a force for quite the few next seasons with no cap concerns during the mackinnon window

Avs got through a window where landeskog rantanen were injured long term and didn’t miss a beat, also during that they had something like 5-6 other roster players hurt. They weren’t “desperate” then they aren’t now with just kadri our for a couple week a

Every cup contender is desperate to get an edge on other contenders. Has nothing to do with a "window". I'm not selling you Domi as a C BTW just to be clear, I'm selling him a winger.

Yes COL did make it to game 7 of the 2nd rnd without those guys, they also made it there without Byrem.

It's fair to point out that last year could've been the outlier but last year his running mate Drouin was there all year. This year he missed more than 30 games. If Drouin was healthy all of this year and Domi put up another 70 points, would your argument be that Domi can only play with Drouin? In actuality (apart from Drouin missing) Domi strayed away from his game this year cause he tryed to do too much on his own cause he wanted to put up the same stats as last year in order to get a better extension. If anything it's a blessing in disguise cause any GM now has leverage in negotiations for his extension. And if they sign him at a cap friendlier contract and be puts up 65-70 pts every season for the next 7, then it's a steal.

But I'll have to disregard the idea that he's peaked as a perennial 55 pt player only at the age of 25.

The Columbus trade would be made at the draft... on at the deadline, it’s also probably a big overpay for Anderson...

If you're taking into consideration Domi's pt production as the only intangible that measures his value, then ya in that case I can't argue that you could get a player that could or has the potential to get "more" pts. But Domi brings more to the table than just pts.

Any scoop on who the Avs are looking to acquire before TDL??

Maybe it is. But Habs are the smallest team in the league. Desperatly need to add size and grit. If I have the assets to give up then I'll do it.

Honestly no clue what they will do, probably as Rentals just be minor depth guys, like Fast or Melker Karlsson.

Apparently they do not like the price for the Kreider trade talks and have moved on to other options. DNVR local guys have said that they have been in contact with the Ducks over Kase. If they do something like that, they are going to look for another smart buy, someone with RFA control or term, with good underlying numbers who project to produce more in an expanded role. They went 3 for 3 with Donskoi Burakovsky and Nichushkin this offseason based on that logic.....full confidence in the Avs analytics department when it comes to that stuff

Ya the price for rentals is ridiculous. But GMs pay it. There's too many "good" teams and like I said above everyone is looking for an edge. Can't beleive MIN thinks they gonna land a #1 C for Dumba.

teams will always find their overpayment deal but Sakic in the past just has shown he is super patient and wont buy for the sake of buying if the price isnt right for him, wont get into the Kreider Pageau and if they get on the market Hoffman Hall trade talks in depth.

Erik Haula would be a better deadline pick up than Kreider pageau IMO when you factor in the price and role of the players

But Domi doesn’t fit a need at winger either, they don’t need another left shot winger, if anything they’d be looking at a right shot. Also he has been in the NHL 5yrs, he is a 50-55pt guy, getting that playing top line and PP1 minutes something he wouldn’t ever do in Colorado. I respect your passion but IMO you are way over valuing him.

Nice player, but in terms of trade with the Avs not what I think they are looking for. He doesn’t kill penalties and he is small, and what’s his production look like knowing he isn’t going to get PP1 time. The Avs imo are looking for a bigger good skating bottom 6 guy that kills penalties and can take face offs and is a rental. The only way they are parting with someone like Byram is for somebody like Kyle Connor from WPG who is a slam dunk dunk 1st line guy with LOTS of term left on his deal.

You're dumb and ignorant. Gallagher's goal production doesn't come from the powerplay. Last year he had as many even strength goals as Mackinnon.

In the past 3 years, he's had 83 goals, 69 of which were even strength. That's 83%.

Ideally both, fill in for Kadri short term but then move to 3C or situational draws with Compher who is better as a Winger....this would be the ideal roster come playoffs. Jost if not moved in a deal would probably see some press box time if they do add another fwd

Landy Mack Rants
Bura Kadri Nichushkin
Compher Haula Donskoi
Calvert Belle Nieto

And nearly 15% of his production has come from PP time. I was asked my thoughts on Gallagher in context to a trade with the Avs, and I gave it which is that he isn’t what the Avs would be looking for.
