Lol Kerfoot will return to 3C because I don't think Spezza wants 700K again

Spezza is on record saying money is not the object and he is loving playing in Toronto. I could see him agreeing to the same type of deal next year, maybe not the exact same money (the NTC was important to him).

I don't Spez is the answer at 3C, he was never a great skater and is getting slower. Kerfoot either plays there or the Leafs upgrade that position in the offseason. I doubt they enter next year with no changes on the defensive core.

I see Engvall as the 3C then if Kerfoot stays where he is

He looks okay there, but definitely seems inconsistent. Some insurance would be nice. I could see the Leafs going outside the organization (maybe a UFA) to try and stabilize that position until they are 100% certain Engvall is the guy.
