Agreed. 83 seems to be the number being mentioned for next season. Could see 86 or 87 the next year with Seattle but I doubt it goes up dramatically right now.

I know reading isn't as fun as just being a Dbag in an online forum board, but 85 isn't unreasonable.

Many at the board of governors meeting in December were saying they were going to be conservative in their budget for next year and only plan for 83ish. But there are 4 reasons it could go up more:
1) Bettman always give a range so 82.5 (lowest I've read) likely the low end of a 3 million range.
2) a new labour deal possible soon and who know what that will do.
3) escrow was returned last year and likely this year too so players might be willing to use more escalator.
4) as Elliott Friedman said, so many players had their contracts cooked to have little money next year the projected escrow could go way down, which would allow NHLPA to use more escalator.

It's based on revenues too, and until the expansion and new CBA there isn't going to be a huge jump. Friedman spitballs, anytime someone quotes what he says I laugh

Friedman is the only guy nearly as reliable as Bobby Mac. But sure. It's not like the owners and commissioner would base their estimate range on revenues.

Freidman again, throws stuff out there for clicks. Bottom line; no way is the cap $85M...totally unrealistic to expect this. $83M to $83.5M is what most experts peg it at. I'll stick with that estimate and we can just wait to see. Please revisit this comment once it's announced.

Note instead of debating anything to do with the team I've predicted, you're arguing a point that has no current meaning. That means you're looking around just for negative things to say. That makes you what?

I'm saying the cap you have here is unrealistic and most experts would agree so therefore the AGM is based on unrealistic cap space which is the intent of your AGM. Note: revisit this when the cap is announced and you come back down to reality.

3 weeks later and you are back; LOL

So the problem with that comment today is the players union has a say and they aren't going to allow it due to escrow payments. So yeah, maybe $84 but $88 is stupid

This was only the second last team I made so still in alerts. But ya. Point is don't be such a douche. Just because you think something doesn't mean you're right and can/should treat others with rudeness and contempt.

I hope some day you grow a pair and can just admit when you've been a douchebag. I pity you. I hope when in real life you're not like that.

Go look at the historical conversation and look who started and continues with name calling and crying all because i laughed at a $85M cap...really mature there guy. I hope in real life you look in the mirror and don't act like that calling people names because they don't agree with you; there's fore sure plenty of people who wouldn't brush it off like I did here.

Again, calling people names on internet forums acting like a tuff guy behind the computer screen...pretty sure you're a millennial given your behavior; let's hope you don't do that in real life, but in the meantime, here's a tissue

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck. You're the one being a troll and not admitting it. So much pity. See a therapist.

Says the kid who only comes on here to keep talking trolling me and making no other comments...obsessive; again look in the mirror and seek professional help if you can't figure it out on your own before you act like this to the wrong person in person.

Congratulations though; you are officially the 2nd person in the 3 years I've been here to join my block list, find someone else to troll as your comments to me now will be blocked!

Good riddance. So much pity here nonetheless. Bye boomer.
