Don't know if it's true or not, but it's a trade that makes sense for both teams IMO. Does it work with the cap?

Value seems reasonable but does Florida have the centre depth to trade him?

I just checked. They have Acciari who already has the most goals he's had in a season at any league since high school and Toninato, who I remember the Leafs drafting and not bothering to sign out of the NCAA.

They don't have the depth. They traded both of Bjugstad and McCann to the Pens last year. Neither are world bearers either, but still

I don't think I would . How about McCabe and Larsson for Trocheck. Numbers are tricky as Florida is up against the cap . But something tells me Larsson could be a valuable piece in the playoffs.

thats not enough value for trocheck imo, McCabe doesn't have the value that montour does, and larsson doesn't add a whole ton of value either

Funny Dreger the other day was saying Larsson does have value as team view him as having the potential to be a great playoff performer with his grit. And it makes the money work . Florida needs money in to equal money out as they are against the cap

I also feel like this is a bit of an overpay
BUT
we also are gonna have to beat other teams offers

Maybe Botts is crafty enough to start with McCabe, Asplund & a 2nd, and then when Florida says they want Montour, he says ok- but no Asplund or no 2nd, take your pick of 1 of them

It would be amazing to be a fly on the wall in the GMs office when they’re negotiating trades with other teams
