Description

I think the jets should just stand pat at the tdl. They will have depth soon but they still need defensive help. Honestly just one shutdown defensemen would do. However those come at a cost so unless we can get one for a 3rd I’m out.

Though niku has his defensive deficiencies I think his 4 points in 6 games means something. He is an excellent puck mover who is a danger everytime he is on the ice. If the jets want him in their long term plans they need to let him learn to defend on the go. He can’t learn it from the press box. Samberg May be a perfect partner for him and may even play with pionk but he is really a wild card in that no one knows if he is really ready yet.

One last thing: if the jets can get a shutdown defender then might as well get a 4 lw like Ennis too. For a similar price

Imo he’s been good recently. On most teams he would be a 6th though. For us he’s a 5th/4th
