You can argue they got a better return for Coleman than Hall, especially if AZ makes playoffs and Van doesn’t.

it is a lot, but I guess they saw the extra value being signed for 1.8m next season and keeping him away from the Bruins so they didnt care about the high price if they win now

I think its a super over payment but Tampa is getting down to cap cutting times with roster so one last big push

I agree. Teams are going nuts and overpaying for players this year. This was basically 2 1st round picks. 2019 and 2020 1st

Basically 2 1st round picks. 2019 and 2020. Im a caps fan. I think I’d rather punt this year and sell off some talent for huge massive returns. This is a terrible dead line for some teams.

or it kills the TDL and we get little to no movement cause every GM wants this kind of overpayment

I dont think the deadline is even remotely close in terms of impact additions, not worth the high silly prices. Caps would be wise to do that, and im sure Avs would be intersted in weapnozing their cap space in the offseason too, they did it with Burakovsky and that worked out well.

Tampa got taken to the woodshed on this deal. Good for NJD though. They are going to be a deadly team in a couple of years.

Oh don’t get me started on the capitals talent management. Look at the guys they let go and who we kept.

Connelly
Burakovsky
Stephenson

Kept or add
Panik
Hags

They will do the same thing with Boyd and djoo. They are the equivalent of Burakovsky and Stephenson

I feel like Coleman is being undervalued by most. He’s really good, he plays a game built for the playoffs, can skate like the wind, gonna flirt with 30 goals and makes only 1.8.

Foote is a good prospect but his foot speed and skating is a major question mark. With the league getting faster every year, it’s no guarantee he is an impactful NHLer. Yeah the VAN 1st will be higher than Tb’s, but TB still has a 1st anyway. Seems to me that they replaced Miller with a cheaper Coleman

Are you saying PIT offered Addison and 1st for a UFA Krieder and NYR declined? Seems like some bad GM'ing from the rangers

we will take a slightly buried Djoos off your hands....but thats what happens when you are an org that scouts well and drafts well, cant keep them all and have to make hard decisions that will come back to haunt ya..be patient with guys or keep on reloading for another cup run

common sense...he was 2nd in ice time in NJ or something silly like that, but hey good on the Devils for exploiting playing him over their Top young fwds

thats the rumour in the Avs land as well, that Rangers are asking for some dumb price for him and teams have walked away to other options. Pens Zucker, Bolts Coleman..wont be shocked to see Bruis, avs and Blues do the same,

Avs didnt like it apparently and have talking to the Ducks about Kase instead
