Ok but keep in mind Coleman also has an extra year on his deal on a steal of a contract and has two less goals than Kreider so don't get your hopes up

Well not exactly.

Rather, he's 10 points more but on 4 times shorter contract and he also cost three times more than Coleman does.

Also Coleman plays C.

There's a lot of things I can see a contending team to value there, but holy cow that was an overpayment of epic proportions.

Coleman an extra year true but his career high I believe until this season is 36 points. Kreider has been 45+ every year the last 5 besides and injury shorted season (on which he was on pace too anyway)

And Rangers can retain half. No problem there...

This season for Coleman could also be a one-off. And while he has more than 20 goals this season, he might not get that as a 3rd line center. Kreider's value definitely went up. Not in terms of being worth more than the previous hypothetical packages (1st rd pick and A prospect/young forward), those just dont seem as ridiculous now
