Haha this year makes me envy all the teams that are selling. It’s like the people who bought bit coin in 2009.

Drop the fifth Papi. If Greene nets a 2nd and a half decent prospect Dillon will certainly get us a late first and a decent prospect on top.

Funny how now without Couture and Hertl and now Kane and Karlsson we’ve won 4 out of 5. And the worst starting goalie in the league shutout Minnesota lol.

Yes! Or if it happens before. Just to iron out the details, we are talking a first rounder for next year or beyond. A player that was 1st round draft pick from previous years doesn’t count.

your systems been solid for 2 + decades
the problem is you always go top heavy on offense or D
its like you forgot goalies are important .

MTL does the complete opposite as we always have a great goalie but that is about it :P

This whole notion that this one trade set the entire market is silly. Just because one team overpays, that doesn;t mean everyone will. And not every team is working from the same pool situation/cap situation/etc.

Id say a first rounder in 2020, or a prospect/player worth a first in 2020

No but you gotta think critically here. If NYI wanted a LHD, Dillon,Vat are both on the market and much better and cheaper. The reason you dont get them for that price is because they are costing more than that price, making you go with Greene

Yeah, that’s so subjective. Let’s just say a first round draft pick and a first rounder drafted from any previous round. Can’t have you saying Hunter Jones shouldve been a first rounder so that counts. Lol.

You also have to think of the person making the trade. Lou has a boner for Greene because he’s his type of player and has experience with him. Just like Martin and Komarov. Btw, Vat is a RHD.

Funny thing is we actually had/have a strong bottom six this year. They’ve gutted out four wins in the last five against playoff teams or teams on the cusp. I think our systems are still solid once the team gets over the initial shock of Pavelski departing. Pavs leaving the Sharks was a lot harder than a lot of people thought I think.

You were right man. I do think Dillon could have got better but Doug Wilson said he wanted to move Dillon ASAP as a favour to him

That interview with him getting choked up talking about being possibly traded was brutal. Team guy for sure.

Still No Goaltending though
When Nabokov holds all your goalie records basically it confirms this .

i mean MTL fans seem to considers Theodore's tenure the worst in goaltending for us since the 1960's but he destroys Nabakov's accomplishments .
that being said atleast we gave Theodore help something SJS never did as he was always top 3 for starts in the league and burnt out come playoffs.

its a shame because i truly wanted you guys to win
i grew up a Rob Blake guy when everyone was high on Sundins, Selane's,Jagr's ext
i REALLY wanted him to go out on top as he had an amazing career and one of the last great hipcheckers .

Jones was a nice find but he's the guy who holds things down while you develop your star Goalie
MTL had Huet for that while we put Price in the AHL
If you guys are smart you'll do whatever it takes to get Askarov this draft
He's elite and probably the best Goalie prospect to go in the 1st since Andrei Vasilevsky
I believe it was the hockeywriters who did a piece on 2020-2030's top NHL goalies of the future and Askarov was in the middle of the pack.

if you guys could get him , woooweee
you'd destroy the league as you always put together solid offense and defense .
