Lavy needs D for his system to work, we aint that!
Torts while I like him, seems like a guy who wears a team down internally
I am hoping for GG

should be back very soon, if its not winnipeg, i think carolina does.

for me i think hes def getting a first (if its a futures deal), the question is whether a prospect is involved and that depends on whether two teams are competing

yupp thats why I have gallant as actually developing us, but it sure would be nice to have a legit system that works and a coach who holds everyone accountable to work.

Watching the game last night, I cant tell you how many times palms or someone else who should know better makes it easy on cbj to break out by trying to chop the stick and knock the puck down rather than taking the body. First man in has to take the body, and it shows that when merkley was on the ice, columbus was making more mistakes. its that simple. Good thing is Gallant does coach that way as well.

How we can be using the same system for 5 years and still not taking the body on the forecheck is puzzling

Laviolette is a great coach but I don't think he fits your team. He coached based on mobile puck possession d. Doesn't really fit you guys.

I agree on Gallant. Guys like torts should be hired carefully. He is a good coach and can push the right buttons to bring responsibility and accountability to a team sometimes. He's also an asshole who can lose the room pretty quick. Interesting want from you

Totally agree on gallant

As far as torts goes, hes intense but he's also proven to be very successful, first in tampa, then ny, and now cbj. He also knows how to be a competitive team and put yourself in a position to win - everything the devils management has preached to this point is compete, coachability, and buy in. Torts will require that and I think he is a perfect coach for Nico, who can drive the bus and lead the buy in from everyone else, the same way foligno has in cbj

He can work when he is put in at the right time. But by the time he left in Tampa and NYR they couldn't be rid of him faster. Plus he flames out hard in Van.

He is a good coach at the right time, but he's kind of high risk, high reward. I do see the appeal of bringing him in to instill a strict discipline in a young team with a lack of significant veteran leaders. I really do. But I can also see it going bad. Would be interesting either way if it happened.
