Is this a joke? Sergachev isn't worth $8.454 million dollars, AA is a RFA with arbitration rights. You can't sign him for less then his current $3 million? His qualifying offer has to be at least 10% over his current deal. So at least $3.3 million. And Trouba's fiancee is heading to New York City after she graduates in 2021. So Trouba would be pretty miffed it he was dealt to Florida while she was heading to New York City.

How's my reasoning flawed? He chose New York for the very season that his fiancee plans on being a Dr there. He pretty much could've chose to have gone anywhere in the US. But chose New York for that very reason. Gorton wouldn't have given him 7 years if he planned on dealing him only after one season.

They trade Trouba, then any UFA would have second thoughts about signing there as long as Gorton is GM. Not only that he would put a big black mark on his reputation. Players on the team would probably lose respect for him. It would be a clown move
