More likely to get CAR to bite if you switched the 1st to 2021. And instead of going for Sergachev or Timmins try sending Kovalchuck, Thompson and Scsndella (2 mill retained) and a 2021 or 2022 2nd rnd pick to PHI for Ghost. Kovi could replace Lindblom, Thompson can help in the absence of Nolan, and Scandella can fill in the hole that Ghost vacates.

I't be Ghost, Chiarot, Kulak, Mete(for at least 3 more years). Enough time for Bean, Romanov, Strubel to develop their game.

As for Tatar there's plenty of teams to choose from apart from COL, to fleece that would be interested immidiately e.g. EDM, CGY, STL, NYI come to mind.

Cause if they feel like the Habs have the missing piece that can help them get the cup, it would be counter productive to the objective of winning the cup.
