Dylan strome at the deadline

Created by: kailer_memeamoto
Team: 2019-20 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 17, 2020
Published: Feb. 17, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Would just be too perfect
Trades
CHI
  1. Khaira, Jujhar
  2. Lagesson, William
  3. Samorukov, Dmitri
  4. 2020 4th round pick (EDM)
  5. 2021 2nd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Top prospect Samorukov has no room to push for on the oilers but could honestly play as soon as this season if the hawks continue to sell. Khaira a 4th liner and Lagesson just an AHL d man with 3rd pairing NHL potential. Samorukov will be tough to let go of, but I think this works for both teams

Strome is a C/RW and Saad is probably a much better fit

Yeah, I don't see the Hawks trading their 2/3C who is an RFA and young for a bunch of castoffs and some picks.

Saad would make more sense (although I think he's staying a Hawk). For Saad, I would expect Gagner (to offset salary), a 1st, and a B prospect. Strome fetches more than that.

Exactly true. To think at least a 1st rounder for Strome plus a really good prospect.

Samorukov is essentially a late first rounder

I don't see the upside of him beyond a 3rd pairing so pretty sure the Hawks would rather take their chances in this year's draft with a late 1st.

A late first rounder on average becomes a second pairing d man, middle six winger on average IF they even make the NHL

Agree, and this is a deep draft so better then a guy that is going to be a bottom pairing

Just my personal biased opinion, Samorukov is as much of a bottom pairing guy as Jaccob Slavin or Pesce or Muzzin or Larsson. He’s very good and the oilers got an absolute steal
