Moving Tatar and Petry to Keep Gallagher Armia and Danault

Created by: Billy739
Team: 2019-20 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 18, 2020
Published: Feb. 18, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This leaves just under 20 million to re-sign Domi , Mete , Aho , MacEwan and Kovalchuk this summer and an additional 18 million to sign Gallagher , Armia , Danault ,and Lehkonen . With Boychuck and Alzner's deals both with 1 year remaining by the time Gallagher and them need a deal this leaves us in good position cap wise as well .

Just click the longterm outlook before being a typical poster on here and ignoring the numbers to push you BS lol

Sure MTL isnt a contender but we arent one now and without spending a lot wont be for 2-3 years. MTL is a rebuilding team who need prospects and players to guide them so we lose nothing

I’m not touching that Boychuk contract with a 10 foot pole.

2021 1st round pick of VAN is in a condition when they traded for Jt Miller. Not sure exactly how this works, but I don't think they can trade it right now.

I mean if that’s what you want for Tatar then the isles should take that and run

Also would you touch it with a 10'1" pole?

You'll have to pay to get Boychuk off your hands

not really no
Mark Streit ,Ron Hainsey , Kimmo Timmonen ,ext
Injuries happen in the playoffs and D with experience with no term actually make out quite well historically . (even ones fresh of IR at 39 still get paid )

moving boychuk as a UFA is about as hard as moving Scandella was for BUF

NYI yes i could have gotten more but i wanted Quality and took their top LD prospect and their 1st without protection although i suppose i could add Ho-sang or Dal Cole without much opposition.

VAN maybe , but i think the pick they're giving up and the prospect make it kinda hard if they know anything about their prospects as MacEwan is more NHL ready then any of our prospects outside Suzuki at this point and from watching him in Junior i can tell you he's the type of Team First guy you want on the ice. Very similar to Shaw personality wise as he'll motivate the bench and is very vocal and popular with the bench . i'd call him a bottom 6 guy with upside of playing 2nd line if he gets playing with the right Duo like perhaps Drouin-Domi or Lehkonen-Suzuki as he plays the game very similar to Armia cycling pucks out of the corner and driving the net for screens and rebounds .

i know VAN prospect isnt flashy as some of their other ones but i know him so i'm comfortable taking him over a more known player like Baertschi lets say because i know MacEwans hard work ethic and never say die attitude will make him a regular for the same reason it did Armia did .
