I think Palms is worth more, given the extra year on his current contract. His cap hit is also a tremendous value. I would add a 2nd rounder and negate the condition on the 1st rounder.

As a Devils fan I accept. I hate to lose Palms, but this trade would force my hand.

This would do it. From Fitz's interviews it doesn't seem like he wants to move Palms. He wants at least one veteran to guide the rebuild and the Devils have nothing proven at RW, although Joey Anderson is making his mark in a small sample size. A first, second and Timmons is probably bare minimum.

I figured Palms would be a guy you all wouldn't want moved but I made it because apparently COL placed a call to NJ about him yesterday since Rantanen went down. But the way things are sounding they would need to pay up big time

No thanks. Palmieri just isn't worth that much to the Avs. COL played well through more injuries than this earlier in the season with a tougher schedule. They can do it again without making a panic trade and giving up 2 valuable assets

no thanks, Avs aren't moving Timmins, nor would they move Newhook, or Byram in all these dime a dozen "Avs will pay a premium in a panic trade" types. Palmieri as a target sure...giving up any of their top prospects, no need. Even with the injuries are still a very good team and can get through a couple weeks

Apparently COL placed a call with NJ after Rantanen went down. That's pretty much the only reason why I made this agm, I don't think COL needs to go panic mode considering they've done just fine with many more injuries.

They're gonna need Kadri and Rantanen at 100% to make a deep playoff run. And I wouldn't really characterize this trade as a "panic trade." It's a hockey trade. Palms has another year at an exceedingly manageable cap hit. But, I do agree that most of the Avs young prospects are off limits. I will say this: Palms is the Devils most valuable trade chip of the season. And that included Hall and Coleman. This is due to term, AAV, and scoring ability.
