Why is this how I found out about this trade...

Not that It matters much, but I think you’re going to want to play Gauthier higher than a 4th line checking role. This is the reason why he didn’t play in Raleigh this year.

I assume theyre playing Fast that high to showcase him and raise his value. But it should be Buch on line 1, Kakko on line 2, Goat on 3 and Fast on 4

how is gauthier off the puck and defensively? what do you think he projects to be in the nhl?

If you would have asked me this question last year, I would have said he was never going to make the NHL. This year he seems to have picked up the game well in the AHL.

My feelings on him - you want him coming off the bus first. He’s a physical freak and can skate like the wind. However, he looked lost in the few games he played with the Canes. He could be a 2nd Line power forward in the future or he could never be more than a AHLer. I didn’t see a NHL power play guy, and he’s not a PKer either.

I’m not upset the Canes traded him, I’m just surprised he wasn’t used as a piece to a larger trade netting a Top 4 D this year.
