Sjs selling confirmed

Aggressive selling akin to a WalMart and a couple of retirement parties should just about do it!

Pretty good haul for SJ. I suspected a late 2nd was the right price. The conditional 3rd seems to be for the retention so all in all good trades for both teams.

Just what I was thinking the Caps needed, a big stay at home defensive defenseman like Orpik to be physical, but also clear the god damn crease and get players away from our slot. I like it. LHD though? Can he play right side? Wonder how the Caps shuffle their D pairings now.

Would be a fun 3rd pair with Gudas lol. Siegenthaler on the 2nd pair with Orlov. Jensen odd man out

Like this trade for both teams. Although, Ottawa is winning the most here.

Since the Caps gave up no current roster capital, I'm guessing another trade may be in the works. Cap dump or a possible top 9 forward for Jensen + picks maybe?

If that happened it would end up being:
Dillon-Carlson
Orlov-Gudas
Kempny-Siegs

Something like that. I still think we need another Dman on the right side. LOL Oh my. Gudas and Siegs have both been slumping lately, but that goes for our entire D so, who knows.

I haven't seen a ton of Sharks games this season, but from all accounts Dillon is elite in his own end. Cleaning up the house has been a huge issue lately, so this reinforcement should be nice. Now if only we can get someone less turnover prone to take Jensen's spot on the right and we're set.

How about Siegenthaler? Could be what happens. Orlov-Sieg pairing. Jensen sits. Kempny third pair with Gudas.

He's a caps kind of player.
But he isn't going to fix the defensive problems. A lot of it starts with a really underwhelming bottom 6.

It's definitely worth a shot and probably our best bet right now, but still not ideal. A true top four, RHD is going to be essential for us to acquire moving forward. I also wish Orlov would engage physically a little more and help clear the crease. He's clearly strong enough to do so, but he always tries to make plays on the puck.

Dillon-Carlson
Orlov-Siegenthaler/Gudas
Kempny-Gudas/Siegenthaler

Is what looks best on paper I think. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Jensen stays in and Siegenthaler is out, which would royally piss us all off

They lost Burakovsky and Connolly and replaced them with Hathaway and Panik. Even stephansen has been great on VGK. Not ideal

The bottom six forwards haven't even been the issue as of late. Hagelin has been producing incredibly well lately, Eller is playing good hockey, Panik has found his rhythm and is playing well, and the fourth line has done their job. It's definitely been the defensive miscues, and disappointing performances from the top six. Kuznetsov being out has definitely hurt our ability to drive play and keep the opposition in their own zone. There are a lot of issues right now, but I think it's a funk that Dillon will help us snap out of. And if not, we're going to get steam-rolled in the first round

Just the type of D Washington, and any other good team would need.
Really wished my Leafs would've got him.
