I don't see the Habs making the trades because it won't get them to playoffs. It's just a minor upgrade.

i do really like the ideas of these trades. I do think the team is heavy down the middle so they don't really want to add centres if they aren't fixing the problem of not having a #1 centre. If they can gain assets in order to trade for a number one centre that would be nice.

Well yea the point of these trades is for next couple seasons Not this year

Centers are more valuable than defenseman, Trocheck will cost you more than Petry especially because multiple teams would want him. For example the Wild with Brodin

The 2 spots than dont need an upgrade are Center and RHD.

That what you traded away, and that what you got in return.

Those are just lateral moves that doesn't fix the team weaknesses.

Go find a big winger (or 3), a second goalie and an offensive LHD, that would help.
