I'm hoping we can move Sutter without retention. There are probably still some GMs who would like to add kind of player, but we wouldn't get much at all for him at that cap hit. Even if we have to add something small like a mid/late round pick, I would prefer that over retention.

Buying out Eriksson is not helpful. Worst case scenario, we eat his contract for next year still and then pay to move him with 2 years left as opposed to 3.

I'd rather spend money to retain Tanev than Toffoli.
