Avs would be absolutely crazy to give up and trade Newhook as he has incredible upside.

I think Newhook is a very good prospect, but let's not go off the map and think he's the next coming. 15 GMs passed up on him, and while he's a ppg in the NCAA, there re 17 other guys ahead of him. Zegras being one of them.

Something is up between these two teams and rumor is a Crow or Lehner and a forward speculating Strome or Saad. Two of those players will not be cheap.

Athletic was saying there seems to be something between Chicago and Colorado involving one of our goalies and a forward.

LOL

Pavel Francouz: 23 GP, 2.50GAA, .922sv% - $950K

Robin Lehner: 32GP, 2.92GAA, .921sv% - $5M

Even if you retain 50% it's still 2.5 times more for almost the same production, and the Avs would be losing out on Newhook who will be better than Strome and they throw in a 1st?

LOL keep dreaming.

I don't get it... so many goalies are linked to COL, yet they are pretty well balanced in net. I get perhaps Strome or Saad... even Kreider... but what's with all of the goalies?

Well...I have Grubaur in a fantasy league and to put it politely, Grubaur has been getting wins on the strength of Colorado's goal scoring and not necessarily because of his stellar performances.

I'd say Francouz has been better but he is getting the backup minutes.

No, he's out for the year, but he's coming back next year...rumors say November or December.

Chihawk has been peddling him all over this site. The only real fit I see is a move with Carolina.

If you think that's the only fit you aren't paying attention to what's going on

When does that have any impact on how he's playing? He has 32 points in 28 games, same as Zegras, but has 5 more goals. Newhook is a top centre prospect, don't kid yourself.

Still, Newhook is likely untradable. Kaut would be the prospect, even if more had to be sent back. Goalies always sell short of market value too. If COL is the only team actually interested in a goalie, then Lehner either sells cheap or stays with CHI

I think either Lehner or Crawford is going to get moved before the trade deadline as both of these goalies could win a playoff series by themselves for a team when they are on their game. Do not think they are a fit in Toronto now with the Campbell trade and the possible signing of Timur Bilyalov by the Leafs after the KHL season ends. This Russian goalie could be a game changer for the Leafs in the future.

Where else do you see a fit? Other than non playoff teams that will most likely just wait till he hits ufa.

Pretty sure he is by most accounts a top 6 prospect, not a #1 c prospect, but could be wrong. I believe he recently just got into the top 25 prospects by NHL network. Turcotte, Zegras, Cozens, all were ranked in the top 6, while Krebs was just ahead of Newhook at 22. Still a very good prospect but not a top guy.

There are a few teams that could be interested. Agree, Newhook is likely untouchable for Colorado unless instead of Saad it was Debrincat which is also a possibility.

Start with your own team, they could use a goalie on his game because Andersen sure as heck isn't.

He was dominent in the BC Junior Hockey League last year and his story and passion for a kid growing up in Newfoundland is absolutely amazing for any true hockey fan .

Yes, Toronto could, also maybe Edmonton, Jets, and Carolina.

I doubt Leafs want to pick him up and take on his Capspace as they would have 3 NHL goalies on the roster. Only way this happens if either Campbell or Anderson get injured.

I think there could be other teams as well if one of their goalies are injured in the next week before the trade deadline.

Nope, Andersen has been a solid goalie for them. Don’t think they do something that rash. Picked up Campbell and since you are so keen on small samples... he is playing better than Lehner...

Would say Edmonton maybe but not a very good fit. Winnipeg doesn’t need a goalie, they need defence. Carolina needs a starter. Out of conference. Seems pretty simple to me.

Agree that Anderson has been a solid goalie for Leafs but also think this is a real make it or brake it season for him to deliver the goods if the Leafs are going to continue to committ to him in the long-term. He seems to let in some real soft goals at times which really hurts a team's morale. I really thought he played poorly in game 7 of each of the last two years playoff matches against the Bruins which does not bode well for a money goaltender. Not sure what his problem is but he has been really off for the last month with the Leafs.
